Filipino Charity House

AFCS strives to provide diverse support to cater to the needs of the Filipino community in Victoria. Based on the steady increase of community need for crisis support accommodation due to risk of homelessness, elder abuse, domestic violence and other crises, AFCS’ Board of Directors and Management responded to this need by establishing The Filipino Charity House in 2020.

The Filipino Charity House is a charity initiative of AFCS providing short-term housing. In conjunction with this support, we provide crisis support case work with qualified Social Workers to assist in accessing mainstream support services including My Aged Care, Services Australia, Victoria Police, Department of Home Affairs, Local Government, and the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and non-government organisations.

Every part of the Filipino Charity House is designed to care for the community, catering to their physical, social, emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing.

    Reminiscing Garden
A dementia-friendly garden thoughtfully designed to support sensory engagement, gentle movement, and therapeutic gardening activities, while also serving as a welcoming space for community social gatherings and lasting memories

The Filipino Charity House is an initiative offered by AFCS without any ongoing government funding. Every meal served, every room offered in crisis, and every case taken up by our Social Workers is made possible through the kindness of donors, fundraising efforts, and the unwavering spirit of bayanihan.

Your kindness helps us continue offering safety, dignity, and support to those in need.
